Hyundai Kona N better in the picture

Hyundai’s N division is experiencing expansionism. The department does not stick to the i30 N and i30 N Fastback. The Kona cannot escape a rock-hard N version either.

The i30 N was the first full-fledged sporting entry from Hyundais N department. An N version of the new Veloster is available in South Korea and the United States, among others, and the manufacturer recently indicated that the brand new i20 is also being injected with a potent N cocktail. The Kona is the brand’s first crossover to carry the letter N referring to Nanyang and the Nürburgring.

It is not the first time that the Kona N races past the lens of our spy photographer. It was previously captured at the Nürburgring and this time the crossover was shot just outside. Although this test sample is also still heavily covered with camouflage material, some of the concealing sticker work has disappeared from both the front and back. The large light metal, the two large chutes at the bottom of the rear, together with the spoiler at the top of the tailgate and sporty designed bumper work, will soon be the outer landmarks of the Kona N.

It is plausible that the Kona N will get the 2.0 T-GDI, known from the i30 N, under the hood, a power source that normally delivers 250 hp, but of which a 270 hp powerful Performance variant is also available. We expect a disclosure later this year.
