Hyundai RM20e is an electric bundle of muscles!

Hyundai has introduced to the world the RM20e, a crazy Veloster-based rip nose with a mid-engine. The machine located behind the front seats is also an electric motor!

Almost every year, Hyundai presents a study model whose name starts with the letters ‘RM’. Those letters stand for Racing Midship, and that of course indicates that behind the front seats of the crazy Koreans there is no back seat, but a power source. Until now, cars like the RM15, RM16 and RM19 had internal combustion engines, but the brand new RM20e that Hyundai has now lifted onto the podium is an EV!

Just like last year’s RM19, the Hyundai RM20e is equipped with a refurbished body of the Veloster N that is not available here, but has its own platform and in this case also a unique powertrain. The RM20e is powered by an 810 hp and 960 Nm strong electric motor, a unit that sends its power purely to the rear axle. With that power, the RM20e shoots to a speed of 100 km / h in less than three seconds. The speedometer’s needle reaches 200 km / h in just 9.88 seconds. Its top speed is above 250 km / h. The battery pack has a capacity of 60 kWh, although Hyundai says nothing about the range.

Hyundai has enlisted the help of none other than the Croatian Rimac Automobli for the RM20e. With the colossus, Hyundai’s N-division says it gives a clear hint to what it will be doing in the racing field in the coming years, expect at least to see more Hyundai’s on the RM basis on the circuits.
