With the “stock market” behind us you would expect that all teaser campaigns have come to an end. Hyundai proves the opposite, because the sporty N version of the i20 appears in a video.
In the flashy video, the Austrian branch of Hyundai shows the new i20. From the front, from the rear; every new corner passes in a flash. Since we know that car in the meantime, there is little new under the sun, you would say! However, nothing turns out to be less true, because the silhouette of the i20 N flashes past at the end.
It is the first time that Hyundai gives a sign of the car’s life. The recipe seems clear: the already sportier i20 is put on an even sportier jacket. At first glance we now see a thick spoiler, larger side skirts with a red accent and thicker bumpers all around. The car is apparently also a bit closer to the road and of course gets a set of sporty alloy wheels. Nothing is said about the power. For the regular i20, the 120 hp 1.0 T-GDI is the most powerful engine. The i20 N naturally gets more muscle and then competes against cars such as the Volkswagen Polo GTI (200 hp) and the new Toyota GR Yaris (261 hp). So aim for a comparable power for the i20 N.
We don’t have to wait too long for the i20 N.
