Google Maps is going to make traveling a lot more pleasant. From now on, the app tells you exactly what time you have to leave home, whether there are traffic jams and delays and whether you need to sprint to catch the bus.
For example, Google Maps makes traveling more enjoyable
Anyone who has to commute up and down every day for work knows that traveling is often stressful. Fortunately, Google Maps is getting an update that makes life more pleasant for motorists and public transport travelers. These are the main functions.
1. Avoid the traffic jams
The biggest addition is the new ‘Commuters’ tab. This screen replaces ‘Public Transport’ and ‘Travel’ and leave real time see information about traffic and public transport. The app takes your commute into account. If there is an accident in the morning, Google Maps will automatically notify you and recommend an alternative route immediately. This way you do not drive straight into the traffic jam.
In addition, Google Maps shows relevant information for each part of your trip, so that you know what time you have to leave from home. This is useful, for example, for people who go to the station by car and take the train from there.
2. No more running to the bus
Anyone who ever takes the bus knows that they are not always on time. It is therefore nice to know whether you really need to sprint, or whether you can walk quietly to the stop. From now on, Google Maps will indicate on the map where your bus is driving so that you can follow it. Currently this position only works in Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam. The intention is that more cities will be added to this soon.
3. Apple Music integration
Finally, Google Maps will have a direct link with Apple Music, Google Play Music and Spotify. This gives you direct access to all your favorite albums, songs and podcasts. You will find the button on the right side of the screen. This means you no longer have to switch apps to put on a new song.
The updated Google Maps is rolling out for your iPhone this week. It may take a few days for you to receive the update.
