In watchOS 11 you will lose this function (and that’s a shame)

WatchOS 11 brings a number of new features to your Apple Watch. But you also lose something in watchOS 11. This is going to change.

You will lose the Siri watch face in watchOS 11

With watchOS 11, your smartwatch gets new possibilities. But this time the smart watch also loses an option. This concerns the Siri watch face. The Siri watch face has been on the Apple Watch for quite some time, but it will disappear with watchOS 11.

In its place will be a smarter ‘smart stack’. Widgets are then shown by time, place and location. Live Activities therefore end up in this stack. It is even possible, for example, to put the Shazam widget in the list when music is detected nearby.

According to rumors, the Double Tap feature is one of the other reasons Siri’s watch face is disappearing in watchOS 11. Now when you look at your Apple Watch and tap twice with your thumb and index finger, the smart stack will appear (if your smartwatch has this feature). Double tap doesn’t work on Siri’s watch face.

You need an Apple Watch Series 9 or Ultra 2 to be able to use Double Tap, because of the S9 chip and the new sensors it contains. They detect the double tapping of your index finger and thumb.

More about the Siri watch face

It is a shame that the Siri watch face has disappeared in watchOS 11. The watch face showed you a lot of information and was quite useful. When you turn the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch, you will see all kinds of data. At the top of the watch face you will also find the Siri logo. If you tap on it, you activate Siri on your Apple Watch.
