Are you curious about the new Microsoft Store, despite the fact that you are still running Windows 10? And don’t you run a preview build of the operating system by default? Then we explain how you can already get acquainted with the Store as you see it on Windows 11.
You can manually install the Microsoft Store on Windows 10. You need the right files for this: you will find them in this Google Docs folder. The map has been compiled by an American tech editor and is therefore reliable. Open the just downloaded Microsoft.WindowStore file with Ctrl + Shift + Right mouse button and then select the PowerShell option. Then install the package with the following command: Add-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore_22110.1401.10.0_neutral___8wekyb3d8bbwe.Msixbundle.
If you did everything right, the new Microsoft Store will work right away on your computer or laptop with Windows 10. However, you may encounter a specific problem related to Microsoft.UI.Xaml. You would do well to go to this GutHub and download the version related to the error code in the picture. If you encounter a Xaml v.2.7.1 error code, then you should download Microsoft.UI.Xaml v2.7.1, for example.
Downloading Microsoft Store a handy idea?
The question now is: should you download the renewed Microsoft Store? That is a question that you can best answer yourself. If you already know that you will not make the switch for the time being, it can be useful. The revamped Store is a lot faster than the Windows 10 version, for example. And the use of the store has improved. Microsoft has streamlined the shopping experience somewhat: pages show a little more information about apps, the buttons are slightly different and there are extra animations. And for gamers, there’s more good news, as the new Microsoft Store puts more emphasis on gaming in general.
If you automatically make the switch to Windows 11, then this is probably not in such a hurry. Upgrading is possible for different, modern laptops, so there is a chance that you will receive the upgrade automatically. Otherwise you may be able to buy a new computer or laptop in the short term: then you will immediately have access to the new operating system and of course the renovated store. Then you are also not good with downloading and installing files. Everything is then arranged for you the moment you switch on the PC for the first time. So handy.
