Instructions for connecting your iPhone to WhatsApp Web
WhatsApp Web allows users to use WhatsApp on their computer. Go to web.whatsapp.com, scan the QR code with your phone and you can chat, share photos and more from your desktop. It is useful for multitasking and typing on a larger keyboard.
It can sometimes still be unclear how exactly you connect. That’s why we’ll show you step-by-step how to access WhatsApp Web. With these instructions for connecting your phone (iPhone and Android) and WhatsApp Web, you can get started in no time!
Using WhatsApp on your computer: this is how you can quickly set it up
- Open a browser on your Mac or PC and surf to web.whatsapp.com. You will then see a QR code;
- Open WhatsApp on your iPhone and tap ‘Settings’ (or the menu on Android devices);
- Choose ‘Paired devices’ and tap ‘Pair device’;
- Point your phone’s camera at the QR code.
You then use the web version in the same way as you do on the telephone. If you want a notification on your computer when someone sends you a new message, you need to enable the ‘Desktop notifications’ option.
You will usually receive a message about this after logging in for the first time, but you can also set it yourself. You can read how to do that below.
- Click on the button with the three dots at the top;
- Choose ‘Settings’;
- Open the ‘Notifications’ option in the menu;
- Check the box next to ‘Message notifications’.
