‘iOS 15 gets new Control Panel and unlocking with Face ID and Touch ID’

A source claims that iOS 15 will get a new Control Center, following the example of the Mac. It is also claimed that the iPhone 13 not only has Face ID facial recognition, but also a Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

‘iOS 15 gets new Control Center’

iPhoneSoft claims to have new information about iOS 15, the major iPhone software update due out later this year. The French website is known for being hit and miss: sometimes their rumors turn out to be correct, other times they are wrong. Therefore, take the claims with a grain of salt.

1. New Control Panel

The French claim that iOS 15 will get a whole new Control Center. This menu of settings and shortcuts would be an example of macOS 11 (Big Sur). Although substantive details are missing, iPhoneSoft writes that the iOS 15 Control Panel becomes more compact than on the Mac.

2. Extra secure unlocking

The website also claims that iOS 15 will support unlocking via Face ID and Touch ID. Thanks to this double verification, it is made extra difficult for malicious parties to unlock stolen iPhones.

IPhoneSoft’s claim is notable because recent iPhones only have Face ID, with the exception of the iPhone SE. The rumor therefore hints that the iPhone 13 will get a fingerprint scanner. It may be placed below the screen, so you don’t need a physical home button.

3. Huge storage for iPhone 13

Speaking of the new iPhone: iPhoneSoft claims to have information about this year’s top model. According to the website, the iPhone 13 Pro (and iPhone 13 Pro Max) will get a maximum storage capacity of 1TB. The current smallest option of 128GB would make way for 256GB.

4. Face ID on Mac

Finally, the source repeats the rumor that the iMac 2021 will get Face ID. Thus, you can unlock the desktop by having your face scanned, just like on the iPhone. The website thinks Face ID will also be on the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro, which should be released later this year.
