For that reason, it is advisable to update your iPhone or iPad to iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 as soon as possible. Furthermore, of the four security vulnerabilities that existed, two may already have been actively exploited to gain access to Apple devices.
Two high-risk leaks closed
Apple posted details about the major security fixes shortly after the launch of iOS 17.4 online.
Apple has closed the security problems with the update to iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4. Both updates also address a security issue in the areas of accessibility and Safari Private Browsing. Locked tabs may have been briefly visible to others while switching tab groups.
The update to iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 is quite significant and, in addition to fixes for security problems, brings more major changes to your iPhone and iPad. The adjustments are related to new European legislation, which comes into effect from today (March 6). That is why Apple had until yesterday to implement major changes and we now see them in iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4.
If the update does not appear automatically on your iPhone or iPad, you can also update manually. To do this, go to ‘Settings > General > Software update’. We recommend installing iOS 17.4 (and iPadOS 17.4) as soon as possible so that the security issues are resolved immediately!
