It has been a while since Apple has brought an update to your iPhone. IOS 18.3 was released on January 27. It was not a major update, Apple mainly made improvements in the software. Where the first beta of the next software version usually follows shortly after an update, Apple has still not released a test version of iOS 18.4. In the meantime, the official release of iOS 18.4 is getting closer.
Apple has now given a little more clarity about the next update for your iPhone. The company has adjusted the web page of iOS 18, where you can read that Apple Intelligence becomes available in more countries. All AI positions will soon also come to France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea and Brazil. That happens according to Apple early Aprilso we know when the release of iOS 18.4 is approximately.
Next iPhone update
It is expected that Apple Intelligence with a software update will be expanded to more countries. That most likely happens with iOS 18.4. As a result, we know that iOS 18.4 is therefore released for all users at the beginning of April. That also explains why no beta of iOS 18.4 is available yet, because the release of the update is much later than with iOS 17.4 or iOS 16.4, for example.
For example, Apple released iOS 17.4 on March 5, 2024, IOS 16.4 came on March 27, 2023 and iOS 15.4 appeared on March 14, 2022. These new software versions were released on a Monday or Tuesday in March. At iOS 18.4 that is probably also a Monday or a Tuesday, but then in April. If we look far ahead, we can release the release of iOS 18.4 Monday, April 7 or Tuesday April 8, 2025 to expect.
iOS 18.4 Beta 1
It is also possible that Apple will release the update a week later. In that case, the release of iOS 18.4 stands out Monday April 14 or Tuesday April 15. Apple has in any case confirmed that iOS 18.4 will be at the beginning of April, so we probably don’t have to wait long for the first test version. It is expected that iOS 18.4 beta 1 can appear any time.
With iOS 18.4, Apple Intelligence finally comes to more European countries. In the Netherlands and Belgium we still have to wait for the new technology, it is not yet clear when all AI functions will be available here.
