The biggest iPhone update of 2024 is coming tonight! Are you ready to install iOS 18 on your iPhone? This is when Apple is releasing the update.
iOS 18 is coming
It’s almost here, because iOS 18 is available for all iPhones tonight. Apple has announced that all users can download iOS 18 on monday september 16 can install. The company has not announced the exact time the update will appear. Looking at previous years, we have a guess, because Apple usually releases new software updates in the evening.
It is therefore expected that iOS 18 will probably around 7pm Dutch time to install on your iPhone. So keep a close eye on your phone tonight, because the update will appear around that time in the settings of the device. You can find iOS 18 under ‘Settings > General > Software Update’. If you don’t see the new software version immediately at 19:00, wait a little longer, because Apple is releasing the update gradually.
These iPhones have support
When a new iOS version is released, an older generation of the iPhone often no longer receives support. With iOS 18 for Apple, a number of changes are being made to the iPhone. For example, you can arrange the home screen and the control panel of the phone as you wish. Unfortunately, the most important functions of iOS 18 will only appear much later, because Apple Intelligence is not yet available. All AI functions are said to come to Europe in 2025, so we will have to do without the new technology for the time being.
Apple releases 7 more updates
In addition to iOS 18 for the iPhone, many more updates will be released on Monday, September 16. Apple is also releasing iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, HomePodOS 18 and visionOS 2 tonight. That’s not all, because the AirPods Pro 2 are also getting new firmware. Almost all Apple devices will receive a new software version tonight, so it is also time to update your Apple Watch, Mac(Book) and iPad.
