In the European Union we are still waiting for the most important functions of iOS 18, but Apple is already working hard on the next major software update in the background. This year iOS 19 is coming to the iPhone, where Apple is said to opt for a renewed design. It was already clear that the camera app on the iPhone will be completely different. According to rumors, Apple opts for transparent frameworks, much more than is the case.

This makes the renewed camera app look a lot like Visionos, the operating system for the Apple Vision Pro. It probably doesn’t stop there, because we are said to see the new design everywhere in iOS 19. According to rumors, Apple emphasizes transparent windows in several applications. The new Apple invitations app confirms that, because there we see a similar design.

New apps confirm Design

Apple has released two new applications in the past year, which are already provided with a new design. At Apple Sports and Apple invitations we see the same design with transparent frameworks that we know from Visionos. Apple Sports is not available in the Netherlands and Belgium, but Apple invitations were released here this week. The app gives a good impression of the design that we can expect at iOS 19.

In the new design of iOS 19 we see many more transparent frames, colorful backgrounds and larger buttons. It is quite possible that Apple expands this design to other applications. Think of the photos, weather and contacts app. Apple has not adjusted the iOS interface for years. That happened for the last time in 2013, when iOS 7 appeared.

It is therefore high time for a new design that we will probably see at iOS 19 this year. Earlier, similar rumors went to the release of iOS 18, but the new design did not end up in the end. Possibly that is the case with iOS 19. Other new functions that are expected with the next iOS generation are an improved version of Siri and more functions for Apple Intelligence.

We have to wait a while for the first announcement about iOS 19. Apple only presents the large software update in June if the WWDC takes place.
