According to rumors, Apple plans to provide virtually no new features in iOS 27. Secretly, that’s not a bad thing at all.
Almost no new features for iOS 27
According to usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman, Apple is working hard to clean up the iPhone software. This should ensure, among other things, that apps open faster, that animations become smoother and, most importantly: less trouble with annoying bugs.

In recent years, many major features have been added to the iPhone’s operating system and you could sometimes notice that. The iPhone then heated up more quickly, the battery lasted a lot less time and the system responded slowly. Apple wants to restore that with iOS 27.
Compare it a bit with a major cleaning in your own home. There will be no new items added, but the house will become a lot nicer and tidier to live in. For most iPhone users, that’s exactly what they want.

Apple Intelligence does receive upgrades
However, there is one area in which Apple does want to make progress and that is artificial intelligence. There are some smarter AI functions coming to iOS 27 that will make your iPhone a bit better.
The most important thing about the update to iOS 27 is that your iPhone will become better and more reliable. No unnecessary extras, no complicated new menus, just an iOS update that will make your device better.
This may make iOS 27 seem a bit boring, but it is probably the nicest update in years. And let’s be honest: an iPhone that works just fine is sometimes the best new ‘feature’ you can get.
