The most recent iPad is already three years old and has a chip that is even older. The iPad 11 will be released this year (with a faster chip)!
iPad 11 will be released this year (and will have this chip)
The iPad 2022 contains an A14 chip. This chip is now more than four years old. But if all goes well we can expect a new regular iPad this year (sometime around spring).

The iPad 2025 will probably have support for Apple Intelligence. But it is not yet known which chipset the regular tablet will have. The iPad 11 will probably have the A18 or A17 Pro chip. The A18 chip is the same chip that is in the iPhone 16 and the A17 Pro is in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. An older chip probably won’t happen, as they don’t support Apple’s AI.
If the regular iPad gets Apple Intelligence, you can also use the various new AI functions. Consider, among other things, creating your own emojis with Genmoji and the new Siri. If all goes well, the AI functions will also be available in the Netherlands for all other Apple devices and devices in April.

In addition, the iPad 11 will probably receive a number of other innovations, including WiFi 6E (or WiFi 7) and Bluetooth 5.3. The current iPad still has WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. In addition, this new iPad is expected to have Apple’s first proprietary 5G modem.
Nice detail: Apple is also rumored to be working on a budget version of the Magic Keyboard. This keyboard can probably also be used on the new regular iPad. This keyboard is more of a traditional keyboard than the folio design you may know from the iPad 10.
According to Mark Gurman, not only the iPad 2025 will be released early this year. The new iPhone SE and the next iPad Air will also be released around this period.
