On Tuesday, Apple announced the new 2022 entry-level iPad. It has a completely new design, without a home button and with USB-C. But what is also new is the exorbitant price. These are the iPad 2022 prices.
iPad 2022 prices
In recent years, the cheapest iPad always cost around 389 euros, like the iPad 2021 (9th generation). Now you have to dig a lot deeper into your pocket to get the latest entry-level iPad. The price of the iPad 2022 is no less than two hundred euros higher than the iPad 2021.
If you choose the cheapest model, with 64 GB storage and without Cellular (4G), you pay 589 euros. If you want more storage or mobile internet, you pay at least 789 euros. These are the iPad 2022 prices:

- iPad 2022 (64 GB, Wi-Fi): €589 euros

The iPad 2022 will be in stores from October 26. You can already pre-order the tablet at Amac, among others.
iPad 2021 is still there (but more expensive)
There is also good news for those who do not need the modern design of the iPad 2022 and above all want an affordable iPad. Apple still sells the 9th-generation iPad from 2021. It is striking that this older model has not become cheaper, but has become more expensive.
While the iPad 2021 cost 389 euros after its launch last year, you now pay fifty euros more for exactly the same iPad. The entry-level tablet from 2021 has a starting price of 439 euros. These are the prices:

- iPad 2021 (64 GB, Wi-Fi): €439 euros

Why is the iPad 2022 so much more expensive?
There are three reasons why the iPad 2022 is so much more expensive than the entry-level iPad from 2021. First of all, the iPad has been given a new look, which means that Apple cannot rely on the housing of older iPad models. This drives up production costs.
In addition, Apple also suffers from the sky-high inflation figures, which make the parts more expensive. Moreover, the unfavorable exchange rate of the euro contributed to the sharp price increases. In the US, the iPad 2022 became a hundred dollars more expensive than its predecessor, but in Europe that is about double at two hundred euros.
