Apple is currently working on an update for the regular iPad. These are the expectations of the iPad 2024.
iPad 2024: these are our expectations
It has been a while since Apple updated the regular iPad. The most recent standard iPad is already from 2022. Yet it seems that Apple is working on a new iPad that should be released in 2024, but what are the expectations?
Design
The iPad will receive a new design in 2022. Then, among other things, Touch ID moved to the on/off button. According to rumors, Apple will not change anything (or very little) about the design of the iPad 2024.
Our expectations for the design of the iPad 2024 are as follows: the screen will remain the same size (10.9 inches) and it will retain the look of the previous iPad Air. There will probably be new colors on the way. The colors of the current iPad 2022 are silver, yellow, pink and blue. It also already has a USB-C charging port, so that will probably remain. Just like the support for the Apple Pencil with USB-C.
New chip
The iPad 2022 has an A14 chip that you may remember from the iPhone 12. And we have to admit that it is starting to become a bit slow. According to rumors, the iPad 2024 will have an A16 chip that is also in the iPhone 15. But if Apple decides to also bring Apple Intelligence to the iPad 2024, an A17 Pro or A18 chip would also be possible.
More small updates
Apple has equipped most recent products with WiFi 6E. The expectations are that they will also find their way to the iPad 2024. The current version still has the standard version of WiFi 6.
Price
There have been no rumors about the price yet, but the expectations for the iPad 2024 are that the price will remain almost the same. The recommended retail price of the iPad 2022 was 589 euros with 64 GB of storage, although it can now also be found for € 395. Apple has increased the minimum storage on several products, so it may well be that they will also do this with the iPad 2024.
iPad 2024: release
This year we expect Apple to hold a second fall event sometime in October. The event will likely focus mainly on the new M4 Macs, but new iPad models are likely on the way as well.
