Foxconn, the largest manufacturer of the iPhone, expects pressure on new parts to continue until the second half of 2022. Therefore, the iPhone 13 shortage will not be over for a while.
Delivery issues: iPhone 13 shortage not over
Due to the pandemic, manufacturers are still encountering supply problems. Apple is now also noticing this with the production of the iPhone. According to Apple’s largest manufacturer of iPhones (Foxconn), this will not change for the time being. The company expects to be hindered by the delivery problems until mid-2022.
Foxconn didn’t just have bad news. The company also expects that some corona-related bottlenecks will decrease. Delivery of some parts (such as the camera module) is expected to return to normal by the end of the year.
iPhone 13 shortage: Apple is scaling back production
For Apple, these delivery problems are not unexpected. The company previously warned that it would face delivery restrictions on the iPhone and iPad. It doesn’t look like the situation is getting better anytime soon. Major chip manufacturers state that demand will continue to exceed supply in the coming year.
Apple hoped to produce about 90 million iPhone 13 models by the end of 2021. The company has already had to adjust this plan. Production was cut back because Apple suppliers Broadcom and Texas Instruments couldn’t supply enough chips.
In short: the iPhone 13
The iPhone 13 is the latest model of the popular smartphone. Under the hood you will find a new A15 Bionic chip. This is faster than the previous chip (A14) and above all more energy efficient.
