It’s only a month away: the expected announcement of the iPhone 14 and other new products during the Apple event. New sources report that the event is already being recorded.
Apple event for the iPhone 14
Mark Gurman, a trusted Apple analyst, states in his most recent newsletter that Apple has started “recording and editing the September event.” We expect this Apple event, with the new iPhone 14, to take place in the first half of September. We are eagerly awaiting the official invitation.
Not one, but two Apple events this fall?
According to Gurman, we will have not one, but two events this year. The first Apple event focuses on the launch of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max. In addition, the Apple Watch Series 8 is also likely to be announced.
A second event is expected to take place in October. According to the journalist from Bloomberg a new iPad and the Mac lineup are discussed. Probably this time also the release of iPadOS 16 will be sometime in October. iPadOS 16 has been delayed due to Stage Manager issues.
In previous years, Apple also held a virtual event. This year, Apple seems to opt for this form again. A live Apple event with the iPhone 14, as was the standard before the pandemic, therefore again seems out of the question this year.
According to Gurman, the event will resemble the WWDC software conference. That means it’s going to be a fully pre-recorded keynote video again. The recordings for the Apple event of the iPhone 14 have already started this week, according to Gurman.
We expect this next to the iPhone 14 in September
Apple has four new iPhone 14 models in the pipeline. These are the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Max, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. That means there’s no room for an iPhone 14 mini this year. We expect no less than three new products in Apple’s smartwatch line-up: the Apple Watch Series 8, an updated Apple Watch SE and a brand new Apple Watch Pro. The former is expected to get a sensor to measure body temperature, but probably not a completely new design.
The larger sturdier Pro model is rumored to have a robust design. This is intended for avid athletes where the watch must be able to take a beating. Unfortunately, this Apple Watch Pro will become considerably more expensive.
