1. New button and extra strong material
Apple has tinkered with the design of the iPhone 15 Pro, because it has a number of new features. The sound off button has been replaced by an action button. We already knew this button, because it can also be used on the Apple Watch Ultra. The action button is multifunctional: you set what the button does when you hold it down. This could be starting up the camera, but also turning on the smart lighting in your room in the morning via the Assignments app.
Furthermore, the housing of the iPhone 15 Pro is no longer made of aluminum, but of titanium. This material is stronger, so the device is better protected against scratches. Titanium is also lighter and the weight has been significantly reduced.
2. Versatile Dynamic Island
The Dynamic Island was introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro, but now all iPhone 15 models have the feature. The large notch is finally a thing of the past. The ‘island’ adapts to what you are using your iPhone for at that moment. This way you get more use out of your screen.
At the airport you can see your boarding pass and which gate your plane is departing from. You can also control your music, count down your timer and take phone calls from the island. More and more apps work together with the function, so that the Dynamic Island becomes more and more versatile.
3. 48 megapixel camera
The camera of the iPhone 15 series has also received major innovations. For example, all iPhone 15 models now take their snapshots with 48 megapixels, but the podium is mainly for the improved telephoto lens of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This corresponds to a periscope lens and can zoom in further without loss of quality than the other models. At 5x, this model has the longest optical zoom ever on an iPhone.
However, a number of improvements have also been made to the software. The night mode is even better with less light and portraits become more beautiful with more intense colors. It is also useful that you no longer have to think about whether you want a portrait photo before taking a photo. The camera now detects whether there is a person – or even an animal – in the frame, but the mode can also be used after taking a photo.
4. Most powerful chip
Apple’s newest and most powerful chip can be found on the inside of the iPhone 15 Pro (Max): the A17 Pro. This processor is about 20 percent faster than the previous generation. The previous generation is still used in the iPhone 15 (Plus), although it is still extremely powerful.
5. From Lightning to USB-C
Furthermore, you no longer charge your iPhone with Lightning, but with a USB-C cable. This is due to legislation in Europe that states that all electronic devices must have such a connection. The advantage of this is that your iPhone 15 charges faster, but transferring files is also faster.
