We have to wait a little longer, but the iPhone 18 Pro finally dissolves an irritation that has been present on all iPhone models for years.
iPhone 18 Pro is ending dragging irritation
Apple has been working on an iPhone with a full screen for some time and could actually achieve this in a few years. The dragging irritation that is then resolved (presumably by the iPhone 18 Pro) is about the notch or the Dynamic Island.
Mark Gurman van Bloomberg says in his latest Power on-newsletter That Apple reduces the size of the Dynamic Island on next year’s iPhone models. In addition, he expects Apple to release a newly designed iPhone model the following year in honor of the 20-year anniversary. Gurman said earlier All that iPhone gets a really borderless screen without recess. That would be the first iPhone model with a really seamless and complete screen.

Face ID under the screen
Last month, Wayne Ma reported The Information That the iPhone 18 Pro models of next year will probably have Face ID under the screen. According to him, those iPhones only have a small hole in the top left corner of the screen, in front of the front camera. With this, the iPhone 18 Pro would completely solve the dragging irritation.
He also said that the iPhone 18 Pro models probably no longer have a pill-shaped recess on the top of the screen. So this is contrary to Gurman’s statement that there is still a smaller Dynamic Island next year. In any case, it seems that the first iPhone model with a full screen, Face ID under the screen and a camera under the screen will only come on the market in 2027.
The transition to a full screen design has gradually gone. With the iPhone X, Apple switched from Touch ID and thick edges to Face ID and a notch in 2017. With the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022, Apple switched from a notch to the Dynamic Island.
