iPhone screen broken? You can do this
The screen of your iPhone is the most vulnerable part of your iPhone. Fortunately, you have several options for an iPhone repair. Actually, there are two possible screen defects that you can experience: there is a crack in the screen or the screen does not respond to touch. In the latter case, there is probably a software problem that is relatively easy to solve. We also help you on your way if your iPhone screen is not responding.
Broken iPhone screen
It is also possible that the glass of the screen of your iPhone is actually broken, because you dropped your device or because something has fallen on the screen. Very annoying and unfortunately not easy to fix. The only thing you can do in such a case is repair an iPhone or replace your screen yourself.
Unfortunately, you cannot rely on the iPhone warranty in the event of a broken screen, but you can possibly rely on AppleCare + or an iPhone insurance if you have taken out one of the two. We have written an extensive explanation about the possibilities of insuring your iPhone
iPhone screen repair at Apple
If you want to have your iPhone repaired at your own expense, you can make an appointment in the Apple Store. This is not the cheapest screen repair for your iPhone, but you know that you are working with a reliable party (Apple itself). Your new iPhone screen is also ready relatively quickly, often the same day. If it turns out that more is broken than just the iPhone display (for example, the housing), Apple also has a special arrangement where you can exchange your broken iPhone.
If there is no Apple Store nearby, you can go to an Apple Authorized Service Provider. They must meet Apple’s strict requirements, so that you always know that the repair is done properly.

Cheap screen replacement
For a cheaper repair you can visit an independent repairer, for example a repair company in the area. Only do this if your device is older and you want to be as cheap as possible. Sometimes original parts are not used and with devices with Touch ID, problems can occur, causing your device to stop working properly. In that case, you could also consider replacing the iPhone screen yourself, as explained below.
Replace iPhone screen yourself
Do you want to replace the iPhone screen and do you dare to do it yourself? That is possible, but we only recommend it if your iPhone is already quite old and does not need to last that long. If you have a relatively new iPhone, it is better to have your broken iPhone screen repaired through the official channels.

You can find complete craft kits on the internet to replace a broken iPhone screen. This often costs a few bucks. Make sure your iPhone is completely switched off and that you have all the tools, such as a suction cup and suitable screwdriver. Often you have to be very careful, because there are thin cables behind the screen that you could pull out. After the screen replacement has been successful, you must reattach everything correctly and put it back in the housing. That can be tricky, so take your time and follow exactly the steps in the instruction. Finally, you check if everything works.
