Apple is working on an iPhone SE 4 and the first leaked images show an iPhone 14-like design. This is what you need to know about the new design!
iPhone SE 4: design without home button
There has been a rumor for some time that Apple is working on an iPhone SE 4 with a modern design. New leaked images, which came into the hands of this week 91mobiles, give a clear picture of this update and show an iPhone SE 4 with a design without a home button. With the new design, the phone looks more and more like the iPhone 14.
These so-called CAD renders further suggest that the iPhone SE 4 will have a 6.1-inch display with a notch at the top, which will house the new Face ID sensors and the front camera. This rejects previous rumors that spoke of an iPhone SE with Dynamic Island. On the back, there is a single camera cutout next to a flash sensor.
iPhone SE 4 vs iPhone SE 2022
The current iPhone SE was released in 2022 and has a 4.7-inch display with a home button, similar to the iPhone 8. The device has an A15 Bionic chip, Touch ID instead of Face ID and costs at this moment € 428,-.
According to 91mobiles, the iPhone SE 4 will have a design with a 6.1-inch display. This means that the dimensions will probably be 147.7 x 71.5 x 7.7 mm. The current iPhone SE measures 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm. According to previous rumors, the iPhone SE 4 will have a USB-C connection instead of Lightning. And there are even rumors that the new SE will have an Action button, which is currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro.
The new SE will not appear until 2025
No exact details are known yet about when Apple will release the iPhone SE 4. This is not expected to be until 2025. There have been rumors about the device on and off over the past 18 months. Ming Chi Kuo reported last April even that Apple had stopped development of the iPhone SE 4. That no longer seems to be the case. Read more about the next iPhone SE here.
