iPhone tips: share holiday photos quickly and easily
Of course, you could send a whole series of emails with a few photos attached each time, but there is an easier way. In these iPhone tips, we show you how. And it’s even faster!
1. Share with another Apple device
We’ll start these iPhone tips with one of the easiest ways. At least, if you want to share all your photos with someone who also has an iPhone, or an iPad, or a Mac. You can use AirDrop. It doesn’t get any easier than that! Here’s how it works:
- Open the Photos app;
- Select the desired photo or select the desired photos;
- Tap the ‘Share’ icon at the bottom left;
- Tap AirDrop, then tap the other person’s Apple device.
The other person must be nearby and within range of
Bluetooth and WiFi are located. Therefore, check in advance whether you are both
wifi and Bluetooth turned on. Does the contact not appear with AirDrop? Then set ‘Everyone for 10 minutes’ on both devices, often the function works then. From iOS 17 you can also hold two iPhones together for AirDrop.
2. Share with Android users
AirDrop is unfortunately only possible for users with Apple devices, but of course there are also ways to share your holiday photos with an Android user. An easy option is Google Photos. In the free app you can put all your photos and videos in different albums. This way you can create a special album for all your holiday pictures, Google then gives you the option to share a link to the album.
You can send the link of the holiday album to friends or family with an Android device. This way they get the chance to view the photos and videos. Are you on holiday with a group? Then you can also set that other users can add holiday photos to a shared album in Google Photos. Finding specific photos is easy with the smart algorithms of the app. You can install Google Photos for free here:
3. Also useful: Dropbox
Don’t want to manually add all your holiday photos to an album? Then Dropbox offers a handy feature. You can enable ‘Camera uploads’ in the app, so that images are automatically saved to Dropbox. All your photos and videos are then added directly to Dropbox, without you having to do anything. Don’t want Dropbox to add all your holiday pictures? Then you can also give access to one album.
Just like Google Photos, Dropbox lets you share a link to your vacation album with your contacts. It works for both Apple and Android users, on phones, tablets, and computers. The free version of Dropbox gives you 3 GB of storage space, which may not be enough for a long vacation. Dropbox Plus costs 11.99 euros per month, which gives you 2000 GB of storage space. You can try out the paid subscription for a month for free, check out the app here:
