According to a well-known Apple analyst, the iPhone will have Face ID under the screen in 2024. The iPhone 16 may be the first smartphone to receive this new form of Face ID.
iPhone with Face ID below the screen in 2024
It has been known for some time that Apple is tinkering with Face ID. For example, we wrote earlier that the iPhone will get Face ID under the screen in the future. Now reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chip Kuo has responded to this as well. In a tweet, Ming-Chi Kuo says he agrees that the iPhone 16 will get Face ID below the screen.
The iPhone X was the first iPhone with Face ID. In all iPhones with Face ID you will find the notch at the top of the screen. This is a small black notch that houses the selfie camera and the Face ID sensors. The notch of the iPhone 13 is smaller than on any other device and the iPhone 14 Pro will probably have two small holes.

Now that Ming-Chi Kuo also believes that the iPhone will get Face ID under the screen in 2024, it seems that the iPhone 16 will be the first Apple phone that no longer has a notch or holes in the screen. Although, one hole for the selfie camera will probably remain…
iPad with Face ID
Apple came up with a completely new way to unlock the iPhone for the iPhone X. Touch ID disappeared and instead you used Face ID to unlock your iPhone. Still, Touch ID hasn’t disappeared completely, because the iPhone SE 2022 still has a home button. In addition, the iPad mini 2021 and the iPad Air 2022 also have Touch ID in the power button.

When the iPhone gets Face ID under the screen in 2024, this could also be a wonderful moment for the iPad. At the moment, only the iPad Pro has Face ID. Perhaps Apple even chooses to provide the other iPads with Face ID.
