Isuzu MU-X firmly under the knife

Like an Everest or a Fortuner

Isuzu MU-X firmly under the knife

For sale in 60 countries, but completely unknown in the Netherlands: the Isuzu MU-X. The SUV brother of the well-known D-Max is going under the knife and will receive a completely new nose, among other things.

The Isuzu MU-X is what the Toyota Fortuner is to the Toyota Hilux and the Ford Everest is to the Ranger. What are you saying, that doesn’t mean anything to you? That is true: not only the MU-X, but also the Fortuner and Everest are not sold (near) the Netherlands. In all cases, these are the SUV brothers of the aforementioned pick-ups. Tough all-rounders with a ladder chassis, but without a loading platform and with one or two extra rows of seats and a large luggage compartment.

The current Isuzu MU-X, because that is what today is about, has been around since 2020. The off-road vehicle is now getting a very extensive facelift, which includes a completely new nose. The large, rounded grille is immediately noticeable, but the aggressive-looking headlights and wide front bumper are also impressive. Sharply lined black wheels and large black fender edges complete the party, although these things are not standard. They belong to the RS version, a top version that focuses on both sportiness and luxury.

A lot is also changing inside. The upper part of the dashboard in particular has been designed differently and is technologically up to date. New safety systems and other new features, such as a 360-degree camera, make the MU-X ready for the coming years. Successful years, undoubtedly: in a country like Thailand, Isuzu is doing good business with both the D-Max and the MU-X.
