More has reportedly become known about the upcoming British birthplace of Jaguars and Land Rovers. Three new models are expected to roll off the production line in the new EV center next year, two of which will be crossovers!
Jaguar Land Rover is expanding its electric range at full speed. The historic factory in Castle Bromwich will be converted into the new electric epicenter of the car group after a large cash injection. The British Autocar spoke about this with “sources” and learned more. According to insiders, three completely new cars should be launched there by the end of 2021. One is the announced electric version of the brand new Jaguar XJ.
We still know very little about the other two cars. Jaguar’s longtime designer Ian Callum last year claimed that Jaguar no longer wants to build electric SUVs, but the new sources contradict this. In addition to the XJ, there would be two electric crossovers. One for Land Rover, one for Jaguar. This can therefore mean that the now well-known I-Pace will get a larger or smaller SUV brother (tje) within a year. Time must tell if the sources are right!
