Last week we learned that Apple’s iPhone 14 production is in dire straits due to the ongoing lockdowns in China. Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is not worried.
Delivery of iPhone 14 not delayed
China is still not in control of the coronavirus. That is why the country has severe lockdowns in several places, forcing millions of people to stay indoors. This causes factories to come to a standstill. All kinds of iPhone 14 parts come from such factories. Earlier this week we heard ominous reports about the delivery of the iPhone 14 Max in particular. In the worst case, Apple would deliver the device later than planned.

According to well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it is all not so bad. “My latest channel checks suggest that Apple has not changed the shipping plan for the iPhone 14 models since the start of the lockdown in Shanghai,” the analyst said. “Production of the new iPhone 14 Max (the non-Pro model) is lagging behind, but is currently still under control. Suppliers are working overtime to make up for delays.”
The lockdowns in China are expected to be far from over. That means delays can still add up and we won’t see the iPhone 14 Max (and maybe other iPhone 14 models) until later than hoped. However, Kuo’s words are hopeful.
More about Apple’s new Max smartphone
The iPhone 14 Max is reportedly replacing the iPhone 13 mini. There will also be no new mini-iPhone, according to the rumors. Few people bought the iPhone 12 mini and 13 mini, so that’s why Apple is pulling the plug. The new iPhone 14 Max will be the same size as the current iPhone 13 Pro Max. That means that the device will have a 6.7-inch screen.
According to multiple rumors, the iPhone 14 Max will retain the A15 chip from the iPhone 13 series. This chip is incredibly powerful, yet it feels like an odd move from Apple. Never before has the manufacturer released a brand new iPhone with an outdated chip.
