Lamborghini has unveiled the Huracán STO. A freak Huracán who has to bring racing performance to the open road.
The Lamborghini Huracán STO makes its character guess when we look at the meaning of the addition STO. That stands for Super Trofeo Omolagoto. So it is a homologation version of Huracán ST, a car that you will only encounter on racetracks. The Huracán STO goes one step further than its predecessor, the Huracán Performante. It is no less than 43 kilos lighter and thanks to the striking aerodynamic wings all around and the immense rear wing, it must be pressed even harder against the asphalt. It is also a winged machine above the engine; there we see Veneno-like lamellae that must undoubtedly also provide extra downward pressure.
The 1,339 kilos weighing Huracán STO combines that extra downforce and the lower weight with a V10 that has remained the same in terms of power. That unblown 5.2-liter power source still delivers the well-known 640 hp in the STO, and that is of course no shame. Thanks to more extreme cooling, it can do its job a bit more efficiently than normal, and the extra light STO results in spectacular figures. In three seconds the counter is already 100 km / h from a standstill and in nine seconds you sprint to 200 km / h. The top of the Huracán STO is at 310 km / h. Although it is very impressive, it is therefore slightly slower than the Performante. Undoubtedly, the heavier wing work on the straights will provide a little more air resistance, but the STO must of course do better in the corners thanks to a whopping 53 percent more downforce. The carbon-ceramic Brembo brake will undoubtedly also come in handy here.
Although the Huracán STO is already nice and striking in the color combination shown, Lamborghini assures us that there is something for everyone. The STO can be put together entirely according to taste by the ‘Ad Personam’ baptized personalization department. We are talking about different color combinations on the outside as well as in the exterior. Contrasting stitching and accents or alcantara in a different color, it should all be possible. Of course, that pushes up the price tag quickly, although with a basic price of probably close to 3 tons you are not cheap.
