Lamborghini is planning a makeover for the Urus. The facelifted Urus, which may just like the Huracán get the addition ‘Evo’ after its name, has now been spotted in the snow without camouflage. The changes appear to be minor.
Based on previous espionage photos, it could already be seen that Lamborghini did not tackle the Urus thoroughly. The photos of this prototype, which shook off all the camouflage material, confirm that. However, the changes to the front bumper are now more visible. It was previously shown that the grille will have an extra horizontal slat in the middle and that the slats of the air inlets on the left and right no longer branch out outwards. Furthermore, Lamborghini visually pulls the front bumper a little more inward by making extra notches on both sides, which run down from the headlights. In any case, those headlights remain in shape with the old.
In addition to a new front bumper, the Urus also gets two extra ventilation openings in the hood. They are not only an optical addition, but may also ensure that the 4.0-liter biturbo V8 under the hood can lose its heat a little better. That power source currently produces 650 hp and 850 Nm of torque, but it is quite conceivable that Lamborghini will send it to the gym for the Urus Evo for some extra spice. By the way, don’t count on a shocking increase in power.
At the rear, the changes are milder at first glance. The shape of the light units remains unchanged, just like on the front, and the diffuser also seems to be largely the same, even if it is difficult to see due to the large amount of snow. There is a difference behind the rear fenders: the ‘ventilation openings’ of the Urus Evo are more in line with the shape of the rear fenders and are optically connected via a horizontal line under the boot lid.
The Urus will blow out five candles at the end of this year, so Lamborghini is expected to pull the curtain on the Urus Evo in the course of this year. In the Netherlands, the Urus is doing relatively well in relative terms. Since its introduction, Lamborghini has sold 92 copies, making it the best-selling Lamborghini ever in our country. Last year 40 new Lamborghinis Urus were registered in the Netherlands. That is not the best year ever, because in 2019 the Italian brand sold 49 copies of the super-SUV.
