You’d almost forget with all that new Defender violence, but there’s also a Land Rover Discovery. The British are now presenting a special version called the Metropolitan Edition.
‘Ready for the city,’ Land Rover says. Of course it refers to that ‘Metropolitan’, but a huge SUV of 2,400 kg is not the first car that comes to our mind when it comes to a city car. The Metropolitan Edition is based on the top version R-Dynamic HSE and is therefore the new top version of the line-up. You can recognize it by differently colored accents in the grille, on the type designation and on the bumpers.
The car also stands on gigantic 22-inch wheels, so we emphasize once again that you have to be careful in the city. Privacy Glass, a panoramic glass roof with sliding/tilting front, a head-up display, heated steering wheel, a wireless phone charger, a refrigerated storage compartment between the front seats and four-zone climate control are all standard. The Discovery Metropolitan costs at least €140,219 and is available as a diesel-fired D300 and petrol as a P360. For comparison: a ‘normal’ D300 R-Dynamic HSE costs at least €135,909.
