Last lap for Polestar 1

The farewell to the Polestar 1 is rapidly approaching. 2021 is the last production year of the sporty plug-in hybrid. Good news for those interested: Polestar reports that the last production places are still available.

Polestar does not state how many available production places are involved. However, there cannot be many. Originally, only 1,500 copies were planned for the Polestar 1. Polestar confirms to Techzle that that number will not be exceeded. In the second half of 2019, the Swedes started production of the sporty hybrid. A total of 11 cars have been registered on Dutch registration, a stark contrast to the more than 3,000 copies of the Polestar 2. The starting price of the Polestar 1 is certainly not tender at € 159,500. For now, the top model can still be configured via the Polestar website, but you also have to order it there. Delivery is expected to take place between April and May.

The Polestar 1 is special for several reasons. It was of course the first production model, but the 609 hp and 1,000 Nm strong 1 also remains the only plug-in hybrid the new brand has ever built. All future models will be EVs. After the 1 was last rolled off the line, Polestar has only the 2 in production. This will change over time, because the brand has confirmed that the Precept Concept will go into production. Just like the Polestar 1, this EV, which has to put the Tesla Model S to the test, rolls off the production line in China. Extensive specifications will follow. It is also not yet known when Polestar will take the Precept into production.
