We’ll have a blast again next year!
The start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is only 24 hours away, but the date of the next edition next year was announced this morning. It will be Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June.
The usual press conference before the race was mainly very cheerful. Because the endurance racing world championship is going well. Nine manufacturers are active in the Hypercar class, the most prestigious category, and Aston Martin will be added next year. This season, which reaches its halfway point with Le Mans tomorrow, already has three different winners.
Calendar 2025
The FIA will try to maintain this and, in addition to the World Endurance Championship calendar, will also announce a new rule: participating manufacturers must register at least two cars. That means next year at least twenty cars, just from official factory teams. Eight races on four continents are on the programme.
Porsche on Hyperpole
Yesterday was the qualification of the fastest eight hypercars for the so-called hyperpole. Porsche clocked the fastest time at Le Mans and with 24 hours of racing ahead, that is far from a certainty for success, but it is a calling card.
The start is tomorrow at 4 p.m.
