A social media post shows leaked iPhone 16 cases that reveal a striking change in the design of the iPhone 16. You need to know this.
Leaked iPhone 16 cases
User @SonnyDickson on X has posted images of leaked iPhone 16 cases. At least that’s what he claims. The images show the same design changes that were previously rumored. By the way, these are cases for the ‘regular’ iPhone 16 models and not for the Pro models.
The most striking thing about the image is clearly the shape of the camera island. It was previously claimed that the cameras of the ‘regular’ iPhone 16 models (wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle) would no longer be placed diagonally, but vertically. The leaked iPhone 16 cases seem to confirm this.
If the cases are accurate, the iPhone 16 looks a bit like the iPhone X. That was the first iPhone with a vertical camera island, as seen below. Before that, iPhones either had separate cameras or a horizontal island with two cameras.
Appearance is very early
We would like to emphasize that it is currently still very early for leaked iPhone 16 cases to surface. Certain case manufacturers do receive measurements from Apple at an early stage in order to make well-fitting cases. That’s the only way to have them in stores when the iPhone 16 actually launches.
But we don’t actually expect leaked cases until a month or two before the unveiling of the new iPhone in September. This image was already posted on March 28, which is very early for a release that won’t take place until September. Therefore, it’s not a bad idea to take the image with a grain of salt.
