Lexus ‘Electrified Sport’: electric LFA successor

Lexus ‘Electrified Sport’: electric LFA successor

Lexus opens up a whole can of electric concept cars. The Japanese previously showed the ‘Electrified SUV’ and ‘Electrified Sedan’ better, now the brand is throwing three photos of the ‘Electrified Sport’ into the world: an electric supercar with promising performance on paper.

The Electrified Sport is not entirely new. He already passed by in an earlier presentation of the entire Lexus Electrified line-up. Then only the front was clearly visible, now the sides and rear of the electric sports car can also be admired. From the front, the Electrified Sport is somewhat reminiscent of the Aston Martin Vulcan due to the bulging of the ‘bonnet’ and the design of the windscreen. The Electrified Sport’s front bumper and headlights are very similar to those of the Electrified Sedan, with large cooling slots at the bottom and cut-away headlights with boomerang-shaped daytime running lights. It is not inconceivable that this gives a good impression of the new Lexus family face.

On the side and the rear, the huge hips of the Electrified Sport are particularly striking, which then again descend in a smooth line in a ‘Kamm-tail’. The rear lights, which are made up of several thin lines, also attract attention. Furthermore, the Electrified Sport has a fairly large diffuser, the floor of which even protrudes behind the car. The low body and smooth, rounded shapes further contribute to the aerodynamic appearance of the supercar. The Electrified Sport almost looks more like a track toy than a road car.

However, Lexus does mean it emphatically as the latter, because the brand draws a comparison with the legendary LFA. The specifications are also promising: Lexus reported a 0-100 time of just over 2 seconds and a range of no less than 700 kilometers on a full battery. Whether Lexus will live up to those figures will have to be seen in the coming years. If the Electrified Sport also resembles the LFA in its development process, it may take a while…
