Lexus further fine-tunes its two-door top model. The Lexus LC in both open and closed form will have to deal with a modified dashboard, new color schemes, changes to the chassis and body and a special Ultimate Edition.

The Lexus LC is hyper-exclusive in the Netherlands, but we like to twist our necks for it. This super-Lexus remains a special appearance, whether you go for the closed coupé or the open Convertible. All versions benefit from the main change for model year 2024: a new, large touchscreen. If you ask us, that fits considerably less nicely in the equally beautiful dashboard of this Lexus, but it undoubtedly offers advantages when it comes to ease of use. The touchpad, which is quite annoying in practice, disappears, instead you can ‘just’ touch the screen to choose functions. The touchscreen measures 12.3 inches, 2 inches more than before, and of course also offers access to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The space left by the touchpad is used to place the buttons placed there a little better within reach. The screen also seems to displace the analog clock previously placed on the right side of the dashboard.

Lexus reinforces the news by introducing two new interior color variants: blue with white accents and ‘DK.Rose’. We have no image of the latter, but according to Lexus it is a black and red whole. There are also new colors for the outside: Heat Blue and Sonic Copper. There is more news on the outside in the form of slightly differently designed wing mirrors with cameras and new 20 and 21-inch wheel types.

According to Lexus, the chassis of the LC has also been modified. By adjusting the suspension, damping, stabilizers and steering slightly differently, the LC must drive more directly and sharply. The brake feel is better than before, according to the Japanese. The ten-speed automatic transmission of the V8 models is more responsive and now actively downshifts when braking in sport mode, while an ‘Expert’ mode should allow drifting. There is also news for the hybrid LC500h (coupé only): an enlarged battery means a brighter throttle response and faster acceleration, according to Lexus.

To top it all off, the LC 500 with V8 is also available as an Ultimate Edition. This version is recognizable by matte white paint, black accents, dark wheels and the ‘canards’ in the front bumper, or aerodynamic ‘wings’. It does not stop with sporty appearances, because the engine and differential are just a bit sportier than normal, according to Lexus.

We do not yet find the slightly renewed Lexus LC on the Dutch price lists, but that will undoubtedly change soon. If that happens, we will also know which variants will and which will not come to our country.
