The sporty and elegant Lexus flagship LC is a coupé launched in 2016 and recently joined by the cutaway LC Convertible. Lexus now also presents the LC of the new model year in the Netherlands.
In April this year, Lexus introduced a detailed version of the LC to the world in the United States. The recently presented LC Convertible benefits directly from the changes brought about by the model year update, which are now also being implemented in the LC Coupé.
For example, the LC Coupé will have larger brake pads, aluminum wishbones, hollow stabilizer bars and springs made of new metal. The result: weight savings of about 10 kilos. The shock absorbers now have a slightly longer suspension travel and Lexus gives the LC a stiffer rear torsion stabilizer. The model year 2021 LC also introduces the Vehicle Stabilty Control already introduced on the LC 500 Convertible, which has been supplemented with Active Cornering Assist. This system brakes the inner wheels in fast corners to prevent understeer as much as possible. Lexus has also adapted the software of the ten-speed automatic transmission of the LC 500, the version with mighty 464 hp and 530 Nm strong 5.0 V8, so that a gear is held a little longer when the accelerator pedal is pressed 50 to 70 percent. Nice for those who want to be on the road smoothly.
The hybrid Lexus LC 500h Coupé has a starting price of € 123,395 in the Netherlands. This variant has the LC 500, which costs € 159,995, as its more powerful brother. The LC 500 Convertible, not available as a hybrid, has a starting price of € 186,995. The LC 500 Convertible is temporarily available as a Regatta Edition, a limited edition available edition in the color Structural Blue and equipped with a Marine Blue-colored soft top. Among other things, the steering wheel and the carpet are finished in white and the seats are covered with beautifully stitched leather. Only 100 copies of this version will be available worldwide. The small number destined for our country has already been forgiven.
