Lexus alternative to Toyota Grand Highlander?

Lexus TX: new large SUV on the way

Lexus announces the arrival of a new SUV. This will not be a direct successor to an existing model, but rather a completely new one. Or at least: the model did not exist before. The basis of the car does not seem to be completely Lexus-own.

In the world of luxury SUVs, Lexus is certainly no stranger. In fact, with the RX, the brand already had a large SUV with a focus on pampering in its range quite early on. In the Netherlands you know the UX, NX, RX and recently the electric RZ as high-legged models. Elsewhere in the world, Lexus has delivered SUVs that it never had in the Netherlands: the LX and the GX. The first is based on the full size Toyota Land Cruiser, second to the smaller Land Cruiser (Prado). The LX was helped to a new generation in 2021, while the GX with introduction year 2009 is now due for replacement after the necessary facelifts. Lexus now announces the arrival of a brand new SUV, but it does not replace the aging GX.

Toyota Grand Highlander

The windows of the Toyota Grand Highlander are slightly different.

The Lexus TX is a new addition to Toyota’s North American delivery range. The SUV seems to fill the gap between the RX and the GX and promises to be an SUV with at least three rows of seats. The Lexus TX may share its technical basis with the Toyota Grand Highlander presented earlier this year in the United States, the big brother of the Highlander, which is not available here. In any case, the windows of the TX do not exactly match those of the Toyota, which means that the TX promises to become ‘more Lexus’ than its big brothers LX and GX.

It is not yet known when Lexus will present the TX. We do not expect him in the Netherlands, by the way.
