Apple finally has another MacBook Pro that has truly earned its name. Both in terms of performance, but also in terms of prices. In this article you will find an overview of the MacBook Pro 2021 prices.
MacBook Pro 2021 prices
The new MacBook Pros 14 and 16 inches are here, with an option between the M1 Pro and M1 Max as processor. Both are a drastic improvement over the Intel processors and graphics chips they replace.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at 2249 euros, and the 16-inch model starts at 2749 euros. With both configurations you get an M1 Pro processor, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage space. In that sense, they’re relatively small price increases over the MacBook Pros they replace. With the more expensive configurations, however, things quickly become complicated.
Two new chips, M1 Pro and M1 Max
While Apple has technically only announced two new chips, both the M1 Pro and M1 Max come in many different configurations with varying amounts of CPU and GPU cores (just like the M1 by the way).

This is common in chip production. If you’re making an M1 Pro with one or two faulty GPU cores, selling it as a cheaper model is wiser than throwing it away altogether. But this doesn’t make the processor choice and pricing scheme any easier.
Overview of all processor variants
To save you a lot of clicking, we’ve scoured the Apple Store pages for the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros. With this we give you an overview of the prices of all upgrades. Let’s start with the variants of the M1 Pro and M1 Max out there.
There are three versions of the M1 Pro:
- 8-core CPU with 6 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores, plus a 14-core GPU. (This one is in the 2249 euro version of the 14-inch MacBook Pro)
- 10-core CPU with 8 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores, plus a 14-core GPU.
- 10-core CPU with 8 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores, plus a 16-core GPU. (This is in the 2749 euro version of the 16-inch MacBook Pro)
In addition, there are two versions of the M1 Max. An upgrade to the M1 Max in either MacBook Pro always requires an upgrade from 16GB of RAM to 32GB of RAM.
- 10-core CPU with 8 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores, plus a 24-core GPU.
- 10-core CPU with 8 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores, plus a 32-core GPU.
