A new version of the MacBook Pro is coming! Apple is working on the MacBook Pro 2025, which will receive important improvements, especially under the hood. The MacBook Pro is expected to switch to the M5 chip in 2025. The current version runs on the M4 chip and was released in October 2024. With the new M5 chip, the MacBook Pro will be even faster and more energy efficient this year.
The MacBook Pro 2025 may be Apple’s first device with the powerful M5 chip. We have not yet seen a device with this processor, but that will probably change soon. It is expected that the M5 chip is not only faster, but also consumes less energy. There is therefore a good chance that we will see improvements in the battery life of the MacBook Pro 2025. The current MacBook Pro lasts up to 24 hours when streaming videos, which is probably even longer with the MacBook Pro 2025.
New M5 chip
The improved battery life is not the only improvement of the M5 chip in the MacBook Pro 2025. The new processor makes the best MacBook even faster. Apple has not yet officially announced the M5 chip, but the processor has already surfaced in a striking video. In that video, the iPad Pro 2025 is taken out of the box and tested, while the tablet has not yet been released. The iPad Pro 2025 also runs on the new M5 chip.
This video already gives us an idea of the differences between the M4 and M5 chips. The new processor is said to be up to 10 percent faster than the M4 chip when loading a single task. Are you going to multitask on your new MacBook? The M5 chip then works up to 15 percent faster than the M4 chip. The new processor brings major improvements to the MacBook Pro 2025, because it is much faster than the MacBook Pro 2024.
Release of the MacBook Pro 2025
It is not yet known what other improvements Apple will bring to the MacBook Pro 2025. We will know that soon, because the new generation of the MacBook Pro is said to be released this month. According to rumors, Apple will release the 14-inch version of the MacBook Pro with the new M5 chip in October 2025. The 16-inch version with the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips will follow in the spring of 2026.
