MacBook Pro with M4 chip has already been leaked (this is what you can expect)

A video has appeared on YouTube apparently showing an unboxing of the new MacBook Pro with an M4 chip. It is striking that usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman then linked the video on his X account.

So it is not entirely certain whether this is the real successor to the MacBook Pro, or whether this MacBook Pro with M4 is a hoax. But it seems quite plausible that this will be the next MacBook. In any case, we will see these upgrades again.

M4 chip

The Macbook Pro in the video has a new chip. This M4 chip has a processor with 10 cores. For comparison: the M3 chip has ‘only’ 8 cores. According to one Geekbench 6 benchmark in the video, this chip is about 25 percent faster than the M3. Apple released the iPad Pro with an M4 chip in May, and this chip also turned out to be about 25 percent faster than the M3 chip.

16 GB RAM

There were previously rumors that the next version of the MacBook Pro would have 16 GB of RAM. And according to the video, all MacBooks Pro with an M4 chip have 16 GB or more of RAM.

Three times Thunderbolt 4

The box of the MacBook Pro with M4 chip shows in the video that it has three Thunderbolt 4 ports. The previous version has two Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Space Black

The video shows that one of the colors will be Space Black. At the moment, that color of the MacBook is only available for the version with an M3 Pro or M3 Max.

MacBook Pro M4 release

Gurman has said that Apple will unveil the first Macs with an M4 chip sometime toward the end of October. The release of the new Macs should be on Friday, November 1.
