The story is especially nice

This is a very special scoop: the headlights of the not yet revealed, facelifted BMW 4-series have already appeared on the German equivalent of Marktplaats.
Cars that have not yet been revealed can come into the picture prematurely in all kinds of ways. Usually these are carefully camouflaged specimens, sometimes a scale model of a new type ends up online prematurely and even more often the press photos leak too early. However, what we find today is, to our knowledge, unprecedented.
The unsurpassed Wilco Blok shares a photo on social media from an advertisement on Kleinanzeigen.de, a sales site for – mainly – second-hand items. However, these headlights are certainly not used, but so new that they should not even exist. A company from Munich – which is no surprise – offers light units for the BMW ‘G22 LCI’, or the facelifted BMW 4-series. That’s right: that car isn’t here yet.

And what exactly do we discover about those lamps? First of all, the shape of the units does not seem to change. The content is being overhauled quite rigorously. While the current 4-series still has a set of ornaments that are vaguely reminiscent of the double ‘angel eyes’ of yesteryear, the new unit has only two vertical LED stripes as daytime running lights. We see something similar with other modern BMWs, such as the new 5-series and the X1. Between the lines is a single lens for the low and high beams, which is undoubtedly able to automatically shine around the vehicles in front. A separate cornering light shines out from the inside of the headlight. BMW will undoubtedly offer several types of headlights in the 4 series. The blue accents usually mean that there is laser technology on board, so expect that simple models do not have those striking stripes.
