Today Instagram is releasing a new feature. You can now make a collage in Instagram Story with two or more photos in one story. That’s how you do it.
Collage with Layout
The new function is called Layout and can be found in the camera function in Instagram. This allows you to store up to six photos in one collage. Previously, you could only post one photo in your Instagram Story.
There was, however, a trick to put multiple photos in one story: copying and pasting a photo into a text box. Those kinds of tricks are no longer necessary with the new layout function. If you follow the steps below, you can create your own collage in no time.
This is how you make a collage in Instagram Story
- Open the camera in Instagram;
- Under the white camera button (where it says ‘normal’) you swipe to the left until you reach Layout;
- Above the camera button you choose how many photos you want to put in your collage;
- Take the first photo as usual. Then the camera shifts to the second box and so on.
You can also add photos from your gallery by tapping the gallery with the plus sign at the bottom left. When you have finished formatting your collage, you can add it to your Instagram Story.
With this function you can unleash your creativity. For example, you can make a consecutive story, a before and after photo, or all kinds of very different photos. Unfortunately, it is not (yet) possible to film in this mode.
More new features in Instagram
Layout isn’t the first feature Instagram has launched in a short time. Recently, a number of functions have also been added that should combat bullying behavior. This way you can limit unwanted comments and annoying users and you get the question ‘Are you sure?’ if you want to post a hateful message.
Artificial intelligence is also used to assess whether false information is being shared. Instagram hopes to limit online bullying as much as possible.
