Marc Phillip Gemballa, son of the deceased founder of Gemballa GmbH, has set up his own brand: Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH. Today the company is showing a new sketch of its first model.
At the end of February there was a striking message from the German side. Marc Phillip, the son of the tragically killed founder of Gemballa GmbH Uwe Gemballa, announced that he would come up with his own brand: Marc Phillip Gemballa (MP Gemballa in short). MP Gemballa already showed a first image of what it would show to the general public during the canceled Geneva Motor Show and, once again with the unveiling of the definitive car, shows yet another design sketch of that car.
The first sketch that MP Gemballa released, already suggested that the brand-new company came up with a special 911, a car in which apparently design influences from the Porsche 959 were incorporated. Also on this new design sketch we see a car that is clearly inspired by that legendary Porsche halo car from the mid-eighties. The rear lights and the shape of the carriage leave no doubt that MP Gemballa’s first-born is based on the current 911. Above it we find a well-known rear spoiler, already shown earlier.
The founding of Marc Phillip Gemballa received few positive responses from the original Gemballa. That company, which after the death of founder Uwe Gemballa came into the hands of new owners, believes that Marc Phillip with his MP Gemballa “[…] has established a competing company that illegally exploits Gemballa’s reputation as well as the company’s trademark. “Gemballa has filed a lawsuit against MP Gemballa.
