Maserati confirms the arrival of the second SUV

Maserati presents a new schedule every few months regarding the arrival of electrified models. This time the Italians are again opening a booklet about what we can expect from the brand in terms of EV.

At the beginning of this year it was announced that the new generation GranTurismo and GranCabrio will be the first models of the brand to receive a fully electric power train. These models will only be marketed in 2021. The Ghibli will be the first car of the brand with hybrid technology. The new Ghibli version must be available this year.

Maserati reports that his factory in Mirafiori will become the center for the production of his electrified or fully electric newcomers. The new GranCabrio and GranTurismo will soon be available in Turin. Whether regular combustion engines will also be included in the Italian price list is not yet clear. From the last generation, which came on the market in 2007, a total of more than 40,000 units were sold until 2019.

More Maserati news: the brand reports that it is launching a completely new supercar this year. From that newcomer comes a version with a combustion engine, but also a version with an electric power train, Maserati reports. In addition, Maserati is speaking for the first time about the arrival of a new ‘Utility Vehicle’. It will not be a pick-up and so it is likely that the Italians will add a new, second SUV to their line-up. Next year, the first prototypes will be rolling out of Maserati’s facility in Cassino. Maserati also promises to present something new in May, more on that later.
