Sales start in February

For 150 of the first customers for the new Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo, there is the option to order the GranTurismo as a PrimaSerie: a specifically composed first edition. Dutch customers can also order the Prima Series, as long as they are quick. Sales start on February 1. In total there are 75 blue-grey with red details and 75 black with green details of the PrimaSeries available, for all markets combined. Prices will follow soon.
After the long career of the first Maserati GranTurismo, the time has come for the second generation. It will initially only come with a turbo six-cylinder like Modena and Trofeo, with 490 or 550 hp respectively. Order books will open on July 1 for the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, an even more powerful and fully electric variant. Prefer a copy with a combustion engine? It is on sale from February 1. The prices are not yet known, but they will follow soon, the Maserati spokesman said. He also reveals that the now unveiled Maserati GranTurismo PrimaSerie will also be available in the Netherlands.
With the Prima Series, Maserati not only celebrates the arrival of a new GranTurismo, but also the fact that they have been involved with this type of car for 75 years. With this, the Italians are referring to the Maserati A6 from the late 1940s, a car that is the first in a long series of ‘Gran Tourers’ from Maserati. The 75 years theme is reflected in the form of a special 75 logo, which is placed on the wheels and on the headrests of the PrimaSeries cars, among other things.
The first edition you can only order if you choose the variant of the GranTurismo with the more powerful version of the six-cylinder: the Trofeo with 550 hp. In total, Maserati will make 150 Prima Series for the global market, which makes it quite exclusive. 75 copies – no coincidence – are executed in ‘Grigio Lamiera Matte’, a kind of matte blue-grey. The other 75 copies are ‘Nero Cometa; , so black, with green details.
Both shades are lacquers with a ‘satin’ finish: a matte lacquer with something of a shine over it. Maserati chooses to provide the gray with all kinds of red accents and to measure the black – as the brand calls it – ‘mint green’ details. You will find those colors on the flanks, the wheels, the B-pillar and the logos on the back. All PrimaSeries also get the carbon fiber elements on the outside that are normally available at extra cost. The interior features red or green details, with the upholstery colors matching the color of the body.
The first Maserati’s GranTurismo should arrive in the Netherlands in the spring. The fully electric Folgore can be ordered from July 1.
