Barbiecore
Maserati has shown a very striking version of the Grecale. The smaller SUV brother of the Levante is hoisted into a sugar pink jacket with the help of Barbie.
The brand with the Trident apparently couldn’t manage a collaboration with Poseidon and so the brand hooks up with Barbie. Together with Barbie’s parent company Mattel, Maserati has presented a candy pink Grecale, a car with which the Italians say they are following the Barbiecore phenomenon, a style inspired by the famous Barbie dolls.
It does not stop at one copy, Maserati indicates that the Barbie pink Grecale is a ultra limited edition is. Ideal for those who alternate their business meetings with glamorous events, as we read in an accompanying letter. There will be two versions of the Barbie-Grecale, the first of which has now been unveiled. A portion of the sale price of this US-specific variant will benefit the Barbie Dream Gap Project, a Barbie brand initiative that partners with charities to help provide equal opportunities for girls. The second special edition will come next year.
The striking Grecale has the most powerful engine under the hood that can be found in the SUV: the 530 hp version of the Nettuno V6. The bright pink and glitter-finished Grecale features yellow accents, a Barbie logo on the C-pillar and Barbie lettering on the front fenders. Inside, Maserati gives the Grecale Barbie a black leather interior with pink stitching and – you guessed it – B decals on the headrests and a slew of hot pink panels.
