Maserati Grecale postponed until 2022

Less pleasant news for the Maserati enthusiasts eager to see the Grecale. The introduction of the second SUV from Maserati has been postponed.

The Maserati Levante will get a smaller SUV next to it, but later than originally communicated. The presentation of the Maserati Grecale was planned for mid-November, but the Italians now indicate that it will only draw the curtain of its second SUV in the spring of 2022.

Maserati says it is forced to postpone the introduction of the Grecale due to problems in the supply chain. The brand says it is mainly affected by the worldwide chip shortage and uses this as a reason to emphasize how crammed with modern technology the Grecale is.

The Grecale will compete with the Porsche Macan and will probably share its technical base with the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio. We do not expect an electric Grecale, although it is obvious that Maserati will come with a mild-hybrid version. There is also a fierce Trofeo version on the roll. So we don’t get to see any of that for the time being. On to spring!
