New sports car unveiled in May
Maserati MC20 prototype
Maserati releases the first images of camouflaged prototypes of the MC20. The new sports coupe will be introduced to the world in May and is the first of a new generation of Maseratis.
Maserati has started the final test phase of the MC20. The brand is now sending prototypes with the final design onto the street. The photos that Maserati releases of this do not reveal much yet, but do confirm that the MC20 is a real sports coupe with a mid-engine.
That engine is most likely a new six-cylinder developed by Maserati. The brand announced last year that it is working on the development of a new engine family that will eventually be used in all models. In most cases in combination with hybrid technology. Maserati has previously announced that the MC20 will also be a fully electric version.
The MC20 will be built in Modena, Italy, where the brand’s headquarters are also located. It will soon be the only Maserati that is produced on this historic land. The factory, where until recently the GranTurismo and GranCabrio were sold, is currently being prepared for the production of the new sports car. Incidentally, the new generation GranTurismo, which appears next year, will be made in Turin.
