Mercedes-AMG A45 S Limited Edition

Mercedes is launching a special, limited availability Mercedes-AMG A 45 S. It has an unimaginative name and costs more than a Mercedes S-class.

The limited ‘promotional model’ of the A45 is called…’Limited Edition’. In any case, it covers it all, because the Mercedes-AMG A45 S 4Matic+ Limited Edition – Mercedes likes long names – is only available between April and New Year’s Day. The Limited Edition immediately stands out because of its ‘Green Hell Magno’ paint, a striking color that is normally not available for the A-class. Although Green Hell doesn’t really need any further decoration, Mercedes immediately provides this special A with yellow accents and huge ‘A45S’ lettering on the doors. AMG Night Packages and an AMG Aerodynamics Package provide the über-A with spoilers and black accents that are apparently not mandatory for this model, but are checked in 98 percent of the cases. The matte black and yellow 19-inch wheels complete the party and ensure that you stand out in that sea of jet black and dark gray A-class AMGs.

The interior is slightly less flashy than the outside, but we still see many yellow accents here. Technically nothing changes to the A 45 S, but in all honesty that was not really necessary. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder has no less than 421 hp and sprints from 0 to 100 in 3.9 seconds, before continuing to a limited top speed of 270 km/h. The Limited Edition can be ordered ‘normally’ in the Netherlands from April and costs €137,237. Anyone who goes shopping at the other end of the Mercedes range for that money will get into an S450e and will still have €3,113 left over. But hey, that’s not an AMG…
