Lots of scrapping and price increase


Mercedes-Benz is removing all diesel versions from the B-class delivery range. In addition, it deletes various models and engine versions, but also adds a handful of new versions. However, this is accompanied by price increases. In the worst case, the B-class will even be €16,000 more expensive.
AutoWeek has the prices of the facelifted Mercedes-Benz B-class. Until now, the delivery range of the B-class was very extensive, but with one smooth jerk the Dutch importer pulls all diesel versions from the price list. This means that the B 180d, B 200d and B 220d will disappear along with the 4Matic versions of the 200d and 220d. In addition, Mercedes-Benz is drawing a line through the cheapest versions of various engine versions. Only the smallest petrol version, the 136 hp B 180, will keep its Business Line version, but it will be €4,500 more expensive and will now cost €47,118. In addition, the plug-in hybrid B 250e benefits from the arrival of a Business Line version. The Mercedes-Benz B-class B 250e costs €51,314 as a new Business Line. The plug-in hybrid B-class 250e will be respectively €3,500 and €1,600 more expensive as Luxury Line and AMG Line.
Is there more disappearing? Secure. The Luxury Line version is now reserved for the B 180, B 200 and plug-in hybrid B 250e. Those versions will be respectively €5,200, €4,600 and €3,500 more expensive. The B200 with 4Matic drive disappears completely. The same applies to the B 250 without 4Matic drive, which is now only available with four-wheel drive and is also considerably more expensive. Its starting price increases by just under €16,000 to €76,365. We are talking about a price increase of 27 percent. Mercedes-Benz will bring a new engine version to the B-class. From now on, the spacious Benz is also available as a 190 hp B 220. It always has 4Matic four-wheel drive and is always executed as an AMG Line. It costs €76,365.

The facelift of the Mercedes-Benz B-class also brings novelties. Among other things, the plug-in hybrid B 250e will have a greater electric range. Mercedes-Benz is also improving the standard equipment of the B-class. Standard equipment includes such things as a reversing camera, displays and a nappa leather-wrapped steering wheel, the ‘parking package’, the ‘mirror package’ and the Easy Pack tailgate.
